Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gets closer every day to being a new Marie Antoinette, cheering for the loss of jobs for the average American while embroiled in an “I don’t have to pay” scandal herself.

On news of Amazon pausing construction on a Virginia headquarters campus, AOC tweeted Friday, “We were right in the end.”

Well, no: “We” — Ocasio-Cortez, state Senator Mike Gianaris, and the other progressives opposed to the deal — didn’t argue that the Amazon headquarters planned for Queens would never be built: Their complaint was that a giant corporation would take tax breaks from the deal.

It didn’t matter that the move would bring tens of thousands of high-paying jobs to the city (and more for construction). These would apparently have been the “wrong” jobs.

And so New York lost it; Amazon planned two other East Coast campuses instead, and now the one in Virginia is on hold as the company falters in the major economic headwinds brought on by spending by drunken sailors and the anti-biz policies imposed by AOC and her party.

Meanwhile, the progs sent a clear message to job creators: Don’t even think about coming to New York. So much for AOC voters in Queens.

“We were right”? Such is the humility of the Squad leader, who is now being exposed as flouting House ethics rules to get his hands on free tickets to the 2021 Met Gala ($70,000 face value), arguably the swankiest social event of the year .

There she wore the touching ‘Tax the rich’ dress. But it now appears that her office has been harassing the designer to lower the price of the dress. She also got a discount on her shoes.

Indeed, until the ethics probe began, she was also stiffing the makeup artist, hair stylist, and car service she used that night. Way to show solidarity with the little people.

And it seems that such a sleaze is “the way of the squad”. multiple whose members are now facing ethical investigations.

Funny how people who claim so loudly that they fight for the oppressed turn out to have a penchant for taking care of . . . himself.
