OnlyFans model, 47, earns $16,000 a month as a Princess Diana look-alike

In less than two years, Lauren Spencer has broken into the top 0.5% earners on OnlyFans, which she says is due to her resemblance to Princess Diana.

Before transitioning into content creation, she ran a cleaning business with her husband for over 10 years, but when the pandemic hit, she saw her work dry up due to restrictions.

“We went from a normal income to nothing overnight,” she told Insider. So she signed up with OnlyFans to make money from home.

The 47-year-old had a side job doing webcam modelling, where viewers join a chat room and pay to watch live explicit content. But now that the cleaning company is no longer in business, fans who said Spencer looks like Princess Diana suggested they try out OnlyFans.

“I often get comments from fans saying, ‘You remind me of her.’ Every time I hear that, I feel flattered,” Spencer said.

The creator of OnlyFans said that she will sometimes dress as Diana at the request of her fans. Now she earns an average of $16,000 per month.

“If people ask me for adapted movies, I’ll do it, but I don’t dress like that every day,” she told Insider.

She customized a top and skirt to mimic Diana’s “revenge dress,” an off-the-shoulder black dress that Diana wore to a 1994 event on the day her then-husband, King Charles, admitted to cheating on her.

She said she works more than 60 hours a week as an OnlyFans creator, which equates to about nine hours a day, including weekends.

Spencer said the vast majority of her income comes from subscriptions: “So far this month I’ve made over $16,000 and about $15,350 of that comes from subscriptions and almost $725 from tips.”

Her day consists of responding to messages from subscribers in the morning, taking photos and videos, and doing live streams on other platforms like Instagram and TikTok to promote herself and attract new subscribers.

Through trial and error, she learned how to record, edit and upload her own content using the video editing app iMovie.

“Promotion is the most important thing, and social media is the primary method,” she said. She uses hashtags relevant to her target audience and comments on other creators’ posts to increase her engagement.

Fans sometimes ask Spencer to pretend to be King Charles and ask her to tell “naughty stories” about how she cheats on them with the driver or with the butler, she said.

She says she engages in “tasteful nudity”, reads erotic stories, and likens her content style to “old-school banter”. She also offers fans close-up photos for a subscription price of $9.99 per month.

One fan even went so far as to send Spencer a photo of Diana with every message they sent her on OnlyFans, she said.

“The fact that I remind a lot of people about Diana certainly helped. It’s a kink for some to see someone like her, who is neat and decent, in underwear,” she said.

The advantages of an OnlyFans model “much outweigh” the disadvantages for Spencer. “I think doing OnlyFans is sometimes portrayed as a last stop for women who have nothing else to do or lack skills or are desperate, but that’s not true,” she said. “I love it. I have complete control over the content I publish.”

Spencer said her goal is to save enough money to open an animal shelter.

She said the downsides are that she now works longer and people sometimes stigmatize sex work. “I have less time now than with the cleaning company, but I prefer this,” she said.

She loves not being on staff anymore and says it “used to be the biggest curse of my life because people wouldn’t show up for work and then the problems would escalate.”

“This is much more fun, it’s not physically taxing on my body and there’s no limit to how much I can earn,” Spencer said.
