Hyundai Sonata
Hyundai Motor Company revealed the design of the new Sonata, with a new badge for the eighth-generation midsize sedan heralding its sportiest design yet.
Through more than a simple facelift, the new Hyundai Sonata revolutionizes the image of the old Sonata, launched in 2019, and is reborn as a dynamic, forward-thinking new model with low-slung, elegant proportions, more aggressive styling and forward-looking technology.
The new Hyundai Sonata presents a fresh take on the four-door coupe that captures the essence of Hyundai Motor’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design philosophy.
Exterior design epitomizes ‘The Sportiness’
Hyundai Sonata accentuates its distinctive image with an N Line-inspired exterior design that exudes sports coupé styling with a long bonnet, low front and fastback roofline.
An example of progressive automotive design, the Sonata’s low-slung exterior epitomizes “The Sportiness” with a horizontal front-end layout that integrates Hyundai’s signature Seamless Horizon Lamp, hidden headlights, wide grille and air intake for a more dynamic and aggressive appearance. The Seamless Horizon Lamp and widely spaced hidden headlights create a dramatic lighting effect, emphasizing the wide stance of the vehicle while adding a futuristic touch.
The dynamic design is emphasized by the contrast between sharp, linear elements and clean, smooth surfaces. The black trim along the bottom of the body rises towards the rear and gives the Hyundai Sonata a strong character.
At the rear, the new H-lights emphasize Sonata’s high-tech image and broad stance even more. The tapered, spoiler-shaped boot lid and exhaust-shaped rear garnish on the standard model reinforce the impression of a high-performance sports saloon, while the addition of a rear spoiler and twin-twin-tip mufflers along with exclusive 19-inch wheels on the N Line further reinforce that image. .
Interior design implements a future mobility sensibility
The interior of the new Hyundai Sonata flaunts a driver-focused layout that complements its sportier exterior image, while at the same time implementing a sense of future mobility with refined high-tech details to support modern lifestyles.
For the first time in a Hyundai model, Sonata features a panoramic curved display that combines both 12.3-inch driver information clusters and a 12.3-inch AVN infotainment system in a modern and simple dashboard layout that emphasizes the horizontal lines and spacious sense of space . The touch-sensitive climate control on the instrument panel enhances the high-tech appearance.
The interior has undergone significant upgrades for an enhanced passenger experience with tasteful interior color combinations to enhance the sense of sportiness and premium character at the same time.
The Hyundai Sonata’s ‘floating’ interior theme creates a futuristic atmosphere. The use of a column-shaped shift-by-wire controller behind the steering wheel creates more space in the center console. The center console is further enhanced by the palm rest which offers greater comfort to the driver by unfolding the armrest to lean towards the palm of the hand. The large cup holder and tray provide extra convenience.
